We had a blast at the Alpine Village Oktoberfest in Torrance. All the bars have a theme from old school Europe. It was definitely a collection of strange bars.

Tony at Harpoon Henry's took this picture of us. He is a great bartender. Harpoon Henry's is the place we start all of out Dana Point excursions. Make sure to check out their happy hour from 4 to 7 pm.

Big Helyns is a great place in San Clemente, from the very start we felt welcome. Not only were our “Hang With Drunks” stickers a big hit, but everything was.

The next day, woke up with a trembling, headache, and a missing creditcard.
Also there was also a raspberry pie in the kitchen.
So rewinding a bit, here are some of the people who contributed to our condition:

The Other Side” – Kona Hawaii
Near Kuakini, and Henry Street in the Old Industrial area.
What do you get when you add 3 Parts Grateful Dead, 1 Part Electric Ukelele, 1 Part Pool Bar, and 1 Part of Bored Surfers during the day?
You get 6 parts of “The Other Side”.

Man is this place strange.
Besides having great bartenders, knuckleheads has pool tables, live bands, food, and an outdoor smoking lounge.
We were surprised to have shark served to us, on a platter with lemons and hotsauce, ala hors d’ourves. The band was very talented; folky.
The best part was meeting Bob Denver, a.k.a. “The Ghost of Gilligan”
